I'm 63 and lost 50 pounds last year do to illnesses, and a lot of it was muscle.
One thing I started doing is drinking a protein drink with breakfast, as i don't have much of an appetite these days. I try to walk several times a week, do daily stretches, and my dr. just prescribed me some PT to get me going again, which doesn't start til around the beginning of next year. But yeah, it is slow going and I gained a LOT of new wrinkles...Ugh!!

@bweaver2025 Good luck to you. With determination and some solid science in kinetics working for you, you should do well over the next three months. A little at a time, but POTENT exercising designed to restore muscle mass, is key. One factor is 'human growth hormone' or HGH. This is encouraged by repeated and forceful high-intensity training (HIT), which you can google. I would not attempt it unless coached by a knowledgeable person, at least at first until you get the gist of what it should be.....for YOU,...and how to do it. Gotta be careful not to set yourself back a ways by making mistakes. But HGH helps to grow muscle, and one way to encourage it is HIT exercise two or three times each week. That and good nutrition, of course.

@bweaver2025 if you are able to eat solid foods, there are many ways to get protein- even gentle ways like scrambled eggs, yogurt, simply cooked fish and poultry..making sure each meal has some protein…it helps to always have some carbs, and fats like olive oil…the protein-carb-fat trifecta is what my docs prescribed for weight gain…fiber as soon as I could, gently at first and now I eat any fiber. .. small meals and snacks …and while I watched sugar and fat consumption, I gained enough to regain strength. More exercise increased appetite.

@bweaver2025 My kidney doctor says 80 grams of protein a day!
