@gabriig
I don’t understand why your doctor would think it would only take three days for the side effects to go away. That’s ridiculous.
My main side effect are my legs. I feel like I’m walking on wooden legs and that’s what makes me feel so tired..other than that I would feel pretty good so I’m hoping the end of December when I stop the Eliquis and I can stop a couple of the other meds that I’m on
I can start seeing a difference in how I walk in a few months, I don’t expect it to be in just a few days. It’s gonna take a while to get it out of your system.
Prayers for both of us and anybody else thats suffering with side effects from medication they have to be on. Hang in there

@ruth36 The reported 'half-life' of apixaban is 12 hours. plus or minus for individual variation based on their liver's ability to metabolize the drug. This means the level of the drug still in circulation should be down to less than 1% inside of four days, and essentially untestable in six days. Leaving another week for the body to regain its equilibrium or to repair any real tissue degradation, or to deal with inflammation caused by the drug, whichever it is that one would assume has caused the unwelcome changes, it should not take months to feel better after stopping a drug with a short half-life like Eliquis. I would begin to suspect, if it were me, that there's something else afoot about two weeks after ceasing any drug. Another drug, a pathogen, age-related deterioration that was 'due' about now anyway, etc.
In any event, I do hope you can claw back your old self, whatever it is that has made you miserable. None of us posting here wants that because many of us have had something like that in their experience. It ain't fun....at all!
