@miriza I am going through the same thing. I had to go off of estrogen and progesterone because I was suffering from deep depression and paralyzing anxiety. I took the patch off last Thursday so today is day 5 without estrogen and progesterone. I feel only slightly better. I have dizziness, depression, anxiety, heart palpitations, interrupted sleep, and I don't know how much longer I can work like this.
@miriza how are you doing? I am going through this, too, and it is awful. did you heal?
It is shocking to me that so many women seem not to be started on hrt slowly and the are trying to stop without slow withdrawal of hrt.
@miriza how are things going? I'm still struggling even with re-instating.
@miriza I am definitely experiencing something similar. Was on HRT (patch and progesterone 100 mg) for about 4 months and began to have a bad break through depression (which I hadn't experienced in 15+ years). My psychiatrist thought it might be the progesterone so I stopped both cold turkey. I had a about a week and a half when I felt good and then totally crashed at the 2.5 week mark. Have never been this depressed -- I'm non functional. Now thinking it might be estrogen withdrawal and my drs (psy plus gyn) are putting me back on estrogen only and then will taper me off. I am praying this works.

This is very real! see the “Progesterone withdrawal” group on FB which has over 700 members at the moment and that is just one group! HRT withdrawal can cause severe neuropsychiatric symptoms. It may be rare but it does happen! Progesterone in particular acts similarly to benzos in the brain!!!
