Hi, really hoping @megtalleywright is still active because this sounds exactly like what's happening to me (vice grip in ears, tinnitus that fluctuates with face muscles)

@jimjohnp hi Jim, my issue ended up being hyperacusis I believe. Getting away from sounds like the ac unit, cars, fans, stopped the pain within a week, but it really sucks to be in quiet with tinnitus
