Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN): Sinus problem trigger

Posted by tnpainisreal @tnpainisreal, Nov 26, 2019

Hi, I am new to this group. I have trigeminal neuralgia, triggered by the usual triggers plus sinus problems. Anyone have a sinus problem trigger?

The Clinic is located in a Clifton, N.J. and the website is
http://www.calmaretherapynj.com. I worked with Dr. Jason Cooney.
He is a lovely and understanding doctor...if you fill out the form,
he will call you and talk with you....

1. The therapy consists of 10 days of treatment ...assuming you start on a Monday, the week-end off, and then a second week.
2. Each treatment is about 30-40 minutes long...Totally non-invasive and
does not hurt.
3. It is FDA approved.
4. Bad news...not covered by Medicare or any kind of insurance.
5. Two weeks of treatment costs approximately $3,800....
6. I live in New York City and I added the cost of a car service to take me
there and then take me back home.
7. Their patients have come from all over the world!
8. Another cost to consider is staying at a local hotel or AirBnB for two weeks.
9. It's a very small clinic, not fancy as they don't need a big space...
10. I also suffer from a secondary pain, a rare headache called Hypnic
Headaches.. And today I received 31 injections of Botox for pain into my head, forehead, neck and back of head....I've got pain going on all over the place.

After my two weeks of treatment, I went off to Paris for a week with no problem. When I came back, I had some headaches that triggered a trigeminal
attack. Went back to Dr. Cooney for 3 days of booster treatment and since then, have not had any nerve pain.

There are videos of patients on the website to see....
I'm happy with my results

Everyone is different in terms of nerve pain and results. They have a high
rate of success. I'm hoping to go at least 6 months of no pain and NO PILLS.

I would suggest getting in touch with Dr. Cooney and talking with him.
You can tell him you "spoke with me" (Suzanne Golden)

It is a financial investment but I didn't have much of a choice...I was worn
out from all the drugs and pain and did consider ending things....so right now
I'm holding steady and now waiting on the injections for my head pains to
kick in.

If I haven't mentioned before, my problems were caused by a dentist
who apparently was on drugs....I was having teeth implants...When the
process was over, I had permanently damaged nerve pain and he (the
dentist) committed suicide!!!!

That’s too far for me to travel. I have located a doctor in Ontario who has a new procedure where there is a small electric insertion near the trigeminal nerve that lots about seven years and kills the pain. He was the one that discovered it and worked in 2022 and it is now available throughout the USA and in Canada thank God in Canada we have free healthcare so it will cost me. Nothing as opposed to the 40,000/100,000 in the USA

@mjcmjc I'm just curious as to the name of the procedure and the doctor. I'm quite happy that the Scrambler Technique has been working for me and doesn't involve any kind of surgery.

I was told some time ago I am not a candidate for any kind of trigeminal nerve surgery so
very pleased that Scrambler has worked for me.....so far.

Yes, healthcare in the U.S. is ridiculous I am lucky thus far in that I have good coverage and can afford any kind of "out of pocket" costs.

I had trigeminal neuralgia for several months. The pain was excruciating unbelievable. It turned out that it was caused by cracks in my teeth. Hairline cracks that couldn’t be detected by x-rays at the dentist. And I go to an expensive dentist! Eventually, when the back wisdom tooth broke The pain stopped. Make sure you go to a dentist and have all of your teeth checked with a microscope to be sure you don’t have any hairline fractures in your teeth.

my trigeminal pain was caused by a dentist years ago, doing dental implants in the upper left gum. Unfortunately, the dentist that recommended him was unaware that this particular dentist had drug problem ….when the implant dentist was finished doing implants with me. He committed suicide shortly after and I was left with permanent nerve damage!!!! the whole procedure from beginning to end was always complicated with pain!!!!!
