@gingerw Thank you for your reply. I will call today to see if he has a cancellation list, but I no longer feel panicked! I am so happy to have found Mayo Clinic's site. I stumbled upon it.
I rarely take NSAIDS but, now that my kidneys are a concern, I definitely won't.

I could have written your comment a couple of years ago. I’m 78, have always had normal 100/80 blood pressure, could stand to lose 15 pounds, and my GFR is about 60. I see a Nephrologist once a year for monitoring. Unfortunately, I took substantial doses of Ibuprofen for a number of years, which is not good for kidneys. So far, I haven’t had any symptoms or need for medication, and I just feel better that I’m in good hands with this specialist. Fortunately, your weight and blood pressure are great. For sure, get in with the Nephrologist for your peace of mind. Others who responded have given you helpful advice.
