Has anyone experienced incontinence after HOLEP surgery?

I recently had HOLEP surgery at the end of 2024. One of my main issues nine weeks later is incontinence or leakage. Been doing kegels but it still persists. Has anyone else experienced this and for how long?

Had a urine sample and CBC done about 3 weeks ago. Went to the doctor to go over the results 11/11 and the doctor said I have another UTI. I knew it, but was prolonging it as long as I could hoping my body would fight off the infection. I am back on antibiotics for the 7th time since my HOLEP procedure last December 3rd. This is so frustrating. After 18 months of waiting I finally have an appointment with a Nephrologist in January and maybe the she can find out what is causing these infections. I went to see an infectious disease doctor and he told me the UTI’s were from the scar tissue from the HOLEP. How long will I have scar tissue that causes UTI’s?

@elcorbs Oh My, so sorry. I hope you get answers and that it finally clears up. My UR was smart not to recommend the HoLEP, but again, any procedure has risks. We all should do our best to speak at length with our surgeons to decide on the right method. Good Luck.

@danilo1m Thank you. I did speak with my Urologist about the risks and did a lot of reading myself. One of my kidneys was not operating fully because of the urine backed up before the surgery. When I emptied I always had 400 plus ml remaining in my bladder. I only did this surgery to try and save my kidneys. I now have incontinence that won’t go away, constant UTI’s and to add to that ED. I was fine till the surgery, now it doesn’t work anymore. I consider myself to be quite young at nearly 74 and I am in good shape. I am learning to live with these issues and remain happy but disappointed in the final outcome of the surgery.
