Hello, Teresa, how are you?
In answer to your question, no I had no symptoms of anything at all - no coughs, tight chest, shortness of breath - we were regular gym goers in those days and I had no problem with our routines at all and also walked several times a day - and no neuroendocrine symptoms either. So I have no idea how long it would have taken to be detected had we not been given a free chiropractic consultation at a health exhibition and this particular chiropractor liked every new patient to have a full spine - top to bottom - Xray. It was a large almost completely circular mass 3 x 5 x 3 in my right lower lobe. It caused a bit of head scratching as apparently they are quite uncommon - down here at least!

Thanks for your reply! So many of us with carcinoid tumors have had a similar experience. As my carcinoids were in the digestive tract, I was having an endoscopy for another issue, and then the carcinoid was discovered and biopsied.

I'm glad that yours was also discovered before other symptoms developed and that you are doing so well now!
