Is there an allergy medication that will not trigger a seizure?
Is there an allergy medication that will not trigger a seizure? I have Focal seizures. I've been seizure-free since Aug 15th. I need an allergy pill, but I don't want it to trigger a seizure.

I have focal seizures, as well. My Mayo neurologist has told me I could take Allegra, Xyzal, Claritin, or Zyrtec. He said don’t take anything that contains diphenhydramine, pseudoephedrine, or phenylephrine in either allergy meds or cold meds. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for sharing that with @lzbthtyler. Which AED are you currently taking, if you don't mind sharing?

I'm seeing more and more people on Xcopri. Is it working well for you?
You mentioned that you've tried other AEDs that didn't work. Which AEDs were those?

@santosha Xcopri was working wonders for me, besides the fact it made me dead tired during the day, even when I was taking it at night. However, I am on 400mg, which my neuro tells me is the highest dose. But, lately a lot more of my typical focal aware seizures have been creeping in, coupled with increased memory loss. But I couldn’t say if that was a failure of the Xcopri, or other issues related to my prior brain surgery, which my neuro is looking into more. I did Carbatrol for many years, but it honestly never worked well. Keppra, Tegretol, lamictal, I topimax, clonazepam, and I know there were others, but my memory is terrible
