ADT duration after Radiation

Posted by Guerri2024 @guerri2024, Nov 5, 2025

During the PCRI conference, talking about the side effect of radiation on the penis, a doctor stated that you should ask your oncologist what is the clear benefits to continue ADT after Radiation because keep taking it can probably lead to a permanent ED. I am kind hesitant if I have to stop taking Orgovyx drug two months after the Radiation because of the side effects that that doctor mentioned.
Any thought about it?

@bonanzaman OMG. This is potentially really helpful news. I've been on a white button capsule per day for the last month or so. Loved that link! I posted a pic of what I'm taking. If anyone has a better option, please share.

Thanks!
Doug

@ecurb I was on ADT for one year. I've been off of it for four years now. With daily doses of Turkey Tail and Lion's Mane mushroom tea, my PSA is 0.07. Gleason score was 8 and PSA 54.0 at diagnosis. What kind of mushroom capsules are you taking?

@ededed white button mushroom capsules and scrambled eggs with mushrooms a lot.

@dpayton , thanks. I got the initial information from ecurb then started researching it. I'm taking close to 12 gm per day of the WBM powder as some of the data from the trials showed people taking up to 14 grams per day.
I'm also taking Turmeric, CBD oil and Taurine as each of those have had an effect on PC from different studies. Do searches on each of those and PC if you are interested.
I'm stage 4 with one spot on my hip bone according to the PET scan. Just finished radiation for both the prostate and hip so I hope it was all of it but taking the supplements in case there are more spots not picked up by the scan and maybe the additional stuff might kill off anything that may be floating around my body. It may be a lifelong thing taking these if my numbers stay low. Small price to pay,
Anyways, here are some links, but there's other information out there.

@dpayton I take this exact supplement and my last PSA test 18 months post radiation (didn't have surgery) was undetectable. But was it the mushroom supplement, luck or having a great medical team at a top-notch cancer center?

@bonanzaman Thank you for all the links! I really appreciate it. The supplements certainly can't hurt. What was your gleason score? Mine was 9. Not great but I'm not giving in to this! No way!
