Gas pains after giving birth?
I had some terrible attacks which felt like my stomach exploding. I felt it on top of my belly below my breast bone across the entire abdomen. It lasted for about an hour. Is it gas or something else?

C-Section? I had that after my C-Section.
No, I had a vaginal birth. It was a very smooth, quick birth with no complications.
Hi @cutiepie, and welcome. Intense abdominal pain is always a bit nerve wracking, especially if it's a pain you've never experienced before.
According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, bowel problems and gas are fairly normal during the postpartum phase. https://www.acog.org/womens-health/faqs/postpartum-pain-management
Have you mentioned these pains to your doctor?

2 ReactionsThanks for your support, @klp. Is there anything else I could do? I am not handling the pain and I feel like it interferes with caring for my baby.
I'm so sorry you're experiencing so much discomfort. Intense pain, especially if it's interfering with your ability to care for your baby, really should be evaluated by your doctor.
Please keep us updated!
Congratulations on your new baby! I'm sorry that you are having gas pains. Did you have any medication before or with your baby's birth? I had medication when I gave birth to my son and also had gas pains afterward and almost didn't make it to the bathroom at one point. However, that was 53 years ago and today things are different. Kelly's suggestion about seeing your doctor is a good idea. It's better to be on the safe side so you can take care of that cute new baby! Also if this is your first child your body may be reacting to a new experience that it is not familiar with. Your doctor would know best.
Ask God for help. He's always there for us. God gave you that sweet baby and I'm sure he wants you to be healthy enough to care for it. I'll say a prayer for you also.
I wish you the best.
