Marie, I started that med a couple of weeks ago. It caused such anxiety and restlessness, that I complained to the doctor. I am now on duloxetine. I had been on duloxetine and tried going off it. That's why the change to excitalopram. Hope this helps.
Marie, I am back on duloxetine, which I have taken for many years. I tried getting off it, thinking it was causing my tiredness. When I had anxiety and panic, the doctor tried escitalopram. That made my anxiety much worse. Dr suggested that I should go back to the duloxetine. I have been back on it for about 3 weeks. My anxiety is decreasing. Sorry I was confusing.

@mariemarie I was just wondering how are you doing with your anti-depressant med. It is working better for you without the previously mentioned side-effects? Teresa
I Have been taking 10 mg Lexapro for 5 days. With Initial side effects I’m more uncomfortable taking Lexapro than before I started. I know its supposed to take 4-6 weeks for Lexapro to work. Should I tough it out and keep it u. Do anti depressants really work.

@gamesjr the side-effects do subside, and they are pretty common to all SSRI drugs in the beginning. People respond to anti-depressants differently, based upon the drug, the dosage, and the use of other medications. It took about three months to get to a solution, for me, of 20mg of Lexapro with 5mg of Abilify to supplement it. I know that sounds like a long time, but I would stick with it. There is a gene based test that helps to pinpoint what medication might be best for you, but not all insurance pays for it. If you are having severe side-effects, check back with your prescribing physician.

My husband started this pill about a month ago, the only thing we have seen is he has no sex drive, can not do an erection , is anyone else having this problem and or what can we do about it
I have been on it for the past year and it has definitely helped me! I used to deal with a lot of anxiety associated with having long covid which would lead into depression. And now it has lessened immensely.

Thanks, gaann. I find i am very tired. Hope it clears away soon. Glad your anxiety is decreasing.
Thanks, marie. Hope you get your meds worked out. It is so difficult to make changes and find the right one.
