How to address PMR pain while decreasing prednisone
I have been diagnosed w poly myalgia rheumatica (pmr). Am taking 5 mg of predisone, was taking 10mg.
Every time I go on a low dose, symptoms come back. I can't take pain meds, but do drink wine to ease pain, although I'm told no alcohol w prednisone. Anything you can share as far as info

@kare1 Great question, and THC DID help me with PMR before I got diagnosed and started the Prednisone.
THC-infused beverages recently became legal in my state. I've never smoked pot as a youth, but I decided to try one of the new, legal "pot drinks" as an alternative to alcohol on Friday nights. Very relaxing and conducive to falling asleep quickly, even 6 hours after consumption. Also a huge appetite stimulant -- a bag of chips has no chance once that stuff kicks in for me. Best of all, no hangover!
When the PMR hit me, I recall sitting on the sofa watching TV in significant, 6- or 7-level discomfort. The THC beverage would bring the pain level down 1 or 2 points, while also "taking the edge off" from worrying constantly about what could possibly be wrong with me. I was also losing weight quickly before I was diagnosed due to reduced appetite, but on the THC beverage, I was ravenous. "The Munchies" is totally real on THC.
Once I was diagnosed and started the Prednisone, I nearly forgot about how much the THC drink helped me get through those 6 weeks from PMR onset to diagnosis/Prednisone.
@kare1 You can't overdose on marijuana, tho you may have an unpleasant experience....it's not known to interfere with most meds.

Thanks. I was curious about interactions. I may just investigate the stuff again after all these decades.
