FND Causing My Low Oxygen Levels, maybe?

Posted by SusanEllen66 @SusanEllen66, Oct 25 1:00pm

I’ve have had my lungs tested several times over the last 4 years because my oxygen levels are low. The tests show that they are fine.

I did some research and read about FND affecting the lung function.

Does anyone else have or know about this?
Thanks

Has the doctor discussed any type of Psychological issues as a cause.
Do you think anxiety or panic could be causing this problem?

@jakedduck1 thanks, I understand what you’re thinking. This is different. It’s constant even when I am relaxed, sleepy…yesterday I was at church trying to sing but had to stop because Ikept running out of breath.

Recently told doctor that I get short of breath and no other symptoms. She immediately sent me for CT coronary angiogram ( looks at heart blood flow). Quickly told that I had severe blockage in heart. Getting stents this week. Ask to have a heart check. All my best.

Are you checking with Oximeter? How low does it go. I had a sleep study that showed mine went below 90 for too long of a time. Now I’m using oxygen overnight. I only have mild sleep apnea. Not sure why it’s going low.

@max2 yes, thank you. My Cardiologist said my heart is fine.
Chest x-ray shows my lungs are clear.
I did have CT scan 2 days ago, I’m now waiting for my appoint with my doctor.

@cctee yes I’m using a Pulse Oximeter, plus my Apple Watch.

I’m averaging 91% everyday. As I am typing this Comment, (2:30 PM) it is 90%. So, I’m sitting at rest, wide awake and it’s only 90%.

I’ve had a sleep study that showed negative Sleep Apnea for me.

@SusanEllen66 you should be checked out by a cardiologists ASAP. If you're short of breath just from singing do you also get short of breath when you walk? Sounds like your heart may not be supplying enough blood to your lungs if your lung studies are fine.

@SusanEllen66, I had a chest X-ray and pft test they were fine. During the day mine drops when I get up and walk around. I have always been an excellent breather and never smoked. I do have a lot of symptoms though. With the oxygen my breathing stays at 97/98. I’m so frustrated at all of my problems that came on suddenly last year. Best wishes SusanEllen66. Let me know how your situation progresses. 🙏
