Hi walking girl, I am also a walking girl. I have HCM asymptomatic diagnosed 20 years ago, on bisoprolol to improve ventricular filling and control palpitations. Recently had a full set of tests just to calibrate whether things had changed and they hadn't so relieved about that but had a BNP for the first time which was abnormal 900+, and just had a Troponin test for the first time and that was 38 which was also abnormal. Out of interest what are your numbers and have they always been that way. Wish I had some history on these numbers.

@bigheart12345 Only your doctor or care team can tell you what is abnormal for you. My experience: I went to the ER last year with an awful headache for 4 days straight and then chest pain. They took my troponin twice and I was at a 7 both times. Later that day ended up with a fever and went back to the ER, troponin went up to 80 and was admitted with sepsis. Mine went up to 760 the next day. So it's really relative what's going on, symptoms, and if the data can help diagnose disease states and set up a treatment plan. At least that is my understanding.

@bigheart12345 I had a successful septal myectomy in July at Mayo and those numbers your quoted are very close to mine. For ME, that isn’t concerning, but these things are individual and only your doctor can tell you if it is concerning for you.

@bigheart12345 My doctor looks at my trends. We bighearts have abnormal readings. I hesitate to state my numbers because we are all chemically different. Your doctor should have a detailed history of your numbers/test results. I am copying my post from Oct 17th: "Both my Troponin and BNP readings are higher than those of healthy heart people, yet they are normal for me. They are measures of different proteins produced when 'heart failure" occurs. Besides heart attacks, HCM, heart surgery, there are probably many other things that can cause these numbers to be high. Please talk to your care team about this to ease your mind. I did, mine appreciated that I did a little research and asked questions." June-July this year I had Lyme Disease, the BNP shot up like a rocket and was very, very concerning. My cardiologist had me test again after a week-10 days on the antibiotic, BNP took a nosedive. Write down your concerns and ask your cardiologist.
