Unfortunately this is a chronic condition that just has to be managed. I’ve had 3 IPL treatments and 2 lipiflow treatments, and I’m pretty much the same, red swollen area around eyelashes. I’m on Cequa drops which I’ve used for 6 months and daily eyelid wipes. I have a prescription for doxycycline which I take once a day, not sure it helps but want to throw everything at this and hope something works! It helps to know someone else is going through this, such an odd thing to have!!

@cm4713 Yes, I inherited this condition from my father, who inherited it from his mother. My eyes were red and irritated when I was a child, but as I grew older, my eyes were less problematic. I even wore contact lenses for 5-6 years until an optometrist told me I had Blepharitis and should not be wearing contact lenses. Now that I am older, they have gotten dryer and then wetter. The lipiflow treatment seemed to help me more than the IPL treatments. I’m also using manduka honey eye drops that I think are helping. I’d rather not take any antibiotics unless I know they are going to help me. I’m going to try manduka honey wipes because the other tea tree ones I have are for demodex mites, which I don’t have and I think might be overkill. MGD is a pain, but at least our vision is not affected! Apparently, all of us need to blink more because staring at screens for several hours reduces our blinking, which reduces our eye fluids.
