Hi yes I’m looking to connect with other people who are living life without a hip. I was born with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and I’ve had 30 some surgeries on both hips but mostly on the right hip. Between Stanford and UCSF and UCLA and Hospital for special surgery, it is now becoming apparent that my only option might be to remove the hip. I’d like to know how other people are surviving without a hip, are you able to walk, do you need aids, can you build a scar tissue etc. Thanks for any reply. Nora D
i was born in 1944 with congenital dislocation..i had hip surgery at Shriner Hospital when I was 2 my leg was two inches shorter at that time,,,,at 76 just hap a hip replacement I have been in the hospital for 3 months..I have had 3 more surgery..and and yeast infection ,,,i am being transferred to the UC hospital in SF where they are thinking of taking it all out...I am very worried any suggestions????
I had an infection n my right hip n the doctor had to remove my replacement hip n now it’s been 11 months n I still don’t have a hip. So I was told I could stand r walk without a joking joint
I had a hip replacement and it keeps popping on a joint I have three surgeries and extra hardware put on my hip joint but so far it keeps popping out. I have had 11 hip dislocations and the original doctor said the only thing he can do is take out my hip what do I do?
In a car accident I broke both hips and pelvis.
Right hip has had 5 hip replacements.I'm told no more bone left to replace a 6th.
I will be hipless.
Extreme concers of quality of life and issues like infections.
I was 19 now 60.
The pain is so intense I can hardly put any pressure on it.
Doesn't matter walking, sitting, laying. It's all painful. Sometimes a shooting pain flows through the outer thigh to hip area. When there is no movement at all.
There is no muscle mass. It's very weak.
Had to take out hip replacement because I obtained pseudomus infection and a massive blood clot at the surgery site had to be in hospital 6 weeks, 4 surgerys, 8 pints of blood, took out hip replacement and put in a spacer walking is getting harder and when I tryto exercise it makes it worse not sure what to do
