Family and friends deny long covid

Posted by suefish @suefish, Oct 6 11:53pm

Most of my family and a few friends, including a couple of MD’s, think that I either don’t have long covid or that I have a serious issue (such as dementia) also. I have had this for more than a year and have many signs: brain fog (worst), headaches, sinus congestion, sleepiness inappropriately, weird repeated dreams, and more. There are no significant clinics within a two hour drive. Can anyone name a place where I can at least get a diagnosis? The neurologist where I live blew me off. I’m in the old range but relatively in pretty good shape except for LC. Thanks to all of you who are presenting this opportunity to get help and information. @suefish

Hi @suefish may I suggest different avenue and dont recall if already suggested🙃. Most healthcare systems have patient advocates thru social worker etc. Contact with them explaining your extraordinary situation of specialized care needed and if that not productive can ask for a grievance to escalate with all your info already in the system🤞. Hope this helped and wish the quickest healing journey 🌈

@law59 patient advocates thru a healthcare system is great resource. When my dad had an aneurysm burst in his brain, i was told the surgery to clean the brain would happen after the weekend. I immediately got rep in hospital and surgery was done sat am!! Also when i was experiencing horrible gaslighting in early months of LC i requested a patient rep thru my health insurance. A medical team at the ins co review ur case and then have zoom session with ur drs.
