Pari eRapid/eFlow first impressions

Wow. Salty!

I washed and sterilized all the parts last night per instructions, and just had my first session. It is indeed rapid! A big hit of salt (7% solution, 4ml vial) with every breath.

It's not breath-actuated, unlike the AeroEclipseXL I'm accustomed to, so salt mist blew everywhere when I exhaled. I soon manually de-activated it while exhaling, using the power button, and re-activated on inhale. I was near my computer and didn't want salt to get all over my electronics. (Next time I'll try it in my kitchen or living room.) Even with the starts and stops, the session was very fast, under 10 minutes. I will time my next one.

My young cat jumped on me while I was nebbing, disconnecting the cord from the cup. Nothing leaked and I reattached it easily. Clearly I need to find a new location to use this system. It's faster so I don't need to be seated or distract myself with online scrabble, as I do with my usual system.

The concentrated salt made me cough at first, but I got the hang of it by the end. It brought up a lot more mucus than usual! All clear, all good. My usual neb sessions have brought up hardly anything lately, so I found this refreshing.

Afterwards I rinsed the parts and soaked in soapy water per instructions. Question: If I boil after every use, do I have to soak in soapy water first? I skip that step with my AeroEclipse/Aerobika setup and just rinse and boil.
(For anyone curious, this is how I have been nebbing/cleaning for the past several months: https://youtu.be/gRUAIu1nO1w )

Thank you so much Sue for sharing your experience with the eRapid nebulizer. Sounds like a good product to have. I am so happy for you to make a 3 week trip to Europe and come back fine. That is really wonderful.
Take care!

@wangling I'm afraid my reply on being "fine" was a bit premature, as one of us was diagnosed with Covid last night. Fortunately, it is NOTHING like the version we had last year in severity, so keeping fingers crossed. (We received "the jab" before travel commenced, so maybe that helped.)

@sueinmn It sounds like the nebulizer and the sessions all went well with the ERapid EFlow....especially with how well you were prepared with everything needed.
Sorry to hear one of you brought a case of Covid home. Hopefully keeping your fingers crossed and with the "jab" before the trip will and have made a positive difference. Wishing the memories of the trip that you both reminisce about will help alleviate the annoyance of the Covid,
Barbara

@sueinmn, Ah, sorry to hear. Hope you feel better soon. Probably the updated vaccine helped to ease the symptoms. Our friends came to visit us in July and on the way back, they both caught covid. She fainted, the symptoms were really bad. Mask did not help in your case?Take care!

@wangling

I have been thinking about the value of the Pari eRapid/e Flow. I have recently spent 8 days at National Jewish Health after which I started using the Aerobika for flutter treatment only. I am finding that it is hard on my body and time consuming as Mucus continues to be expectorated for several hours after use. I don't stay home, but sometimes it's inconvenient. So your experience with the Pari really interested me. I will write about my experience at NJH for those who are contemplating going there. Glad your trip was good. Sorry someone had or has Covid and hope that person is better. As always thanks for you expertise. Roz
