emmakf, I do believe sensitivity to smells and Fibromyalgia go together. I have a nose like a blood hound. I smell
things other people cannot smell. I gag sometimes due to how intense the smell is to me.

I have had Fibromyalgia for 30 years and I have not made a connection on a "flare day" and if my snozzolla is more sensitive on those days, but, I will pay closer attention.

I don't get dry heaves like you do, but, it's like the smell is so intensified to me.

Bless you and praying for you. It's no fun that's for sure.

@covidstinks2023 Thank you, this was really helpful. Glad to know someone else deals with something similar, and I’m not going crazy! My thoughts are with you as well. I can’t even begin to image dealing with this for 30 years.

@covidstinks2023 I have had fibromyalgia since 1999. Early information stated that Fibromyalgia does not a progressive disease, some people are just more sensitive to the symptoms.
We’re you told that as well.
I am reading now that perhaps the above is a true statement, what it did not add that are bodies get worn out from fighting down the constant pain along with a numerous other of conditions that come from fibromyalgia.
Would you agree ?

Hi
I am very sensitive to smells and noise, any noise.
My daughter is the same,
We've always been told we're too sensitive, just forget about it. It's not bothering anyone else.
A dog barking far away is so annoying; I have to put my earplugs in, but it doesn't stop my head from pounding. Smells are worse for me. I live in an apartment, so any time I leave my suite, I smell everything people are cooking, and going in the elevator is worse because I can't seem to get out of the building without someone getting on the elevator with their dogs. When I go into a store, I always have to have a pocket full of tissues because my nose just turns on like a tap and doesn't stop.
Does anyone have similar issues and have been told they have Fibromyalgia?
I have just gotten a Nurse Practitioner after many, many years without any medical professional in my life. I have a few other medical issues, so I've been focusing on those. I have allergies to fish, dogs and pollen. But I would be really interested to know if these noises and smells are something I should mention to her, because this is what I thought these other things were. ( of course, I don't think I could be allergic to a dog barking) but I always thought it was an odd thing to be bothered with when it didn't bother other people that I was around.
