Treated for glioblastoma: Will dizziness & confusion get better?
My mom was diagnosed last year with glioblastoma had surgery done removed it on the left side.. did chemo for 6 months and 3 weeks of radiation. and now 3 weeks ago she had the 2nd surgery done ( left side ). she is really confused and dizzy.
Can anyone tell me if this goes away and she will back to normal?
It’s really bad all she does is sleep and doesn’t know what day/time it is… this sucks so bad

My husband had Glioblastoma but I can’t tell you anything about what to expect for your mother’s recovery. You must speak with her neurologist and neurosurgeon to get her prognosis. Glioblastoma is virtually always terminal. Extreme confusion after brain radiation is expected and typically is worse 10-12 months after the radiation. I wish I had a sunnier outlook, but this disease is brutal and so are the treatments. I do hope your mother has some quality time remaining. Make her days as good as possible. Peace be with you.

2 Reactionswelcome to the group, we have a lot of good support team members and a lot
of different stories as to their surgeries, biggest thing i had trouble
with wasi was impatient. the doctor said it was going to take a longtime to
recover. that was an understatement and a lot of hard work coming back.
talk to her ,read to her and be patient as you can, prayer helps
tremendously. i had like hundreds praying for me some every day.
ill send a prayer your way also. huge hugs and wishes you well.

2 ReactionsHello,
I am sorry your mother is going through this. The treatment is close to what I had but I did not have a 2nd surgery. What is the reason for that? The only medication I am taking is something daily to prevent a seizure. If she is taking any daily medication for what she has gone through, has anyone checked to see if it is causing her to sleep so much and unsure of what day it is? I was having major issues after my glioblastoma was discovered. The medication that they wanted me to take I refused after a couple of weeks due to the conditions it was putting me through. They changed it and I do just need to make sure I take it with food. It has been almost a year and a half since my last chemo treatment and I will continue to get better based on what I want and/or accept.
Question with the medical team what your mother is going through and hopefully they can help her.
Prayers for your mother.
Sjt

2 ReactionsHello all,
I'm going through the same issues with glioblastoma. Let through surgery/radiation/chemo therapy, Now I'm in the wait and see period with MRI checks every two months. Next MRI is Nov. 14 to see is there is any regrowth and determining next steps. One possibility is a trial study at Stanford University if there is any change from my last MRI in September. In the meantime, I'm putting up aches and pains and trying to and getting through the day. Praying for the best...

4 Reactions@adrian092 my son is in a similar situation with glioblastoma . He has had surgery which got 60% of the tumour and he is now in the middle of radiation and chemo pills. What is the Stanford study?
