Family and friends deny long covid

Posted by suefish @suefish, Oct 6 11:53pm

Most of my family and a few friends, including a couple of MD’s, think that I either don’t have long covid or that I have a serious issue (such as dementia) also. I have had this for more than a year and have many signs: brain fog (worst), headaches, sinus congestion, sleepiness inappropriately, weird repeated dreams, and more. There are no significant clinics within a two hour drive. Can anyone name a place where I can at least get a diagnosis? The neurologist where I live blew me off. I’m in the old range but relatively in pretty good shape except for LC. Thanks to all of you who are presenting this opportunity to get help and information. @suefish

@bigj it started with forgetting every day words like the word Chair for 6 straight months . I could describe it but couldn't say the word Chair this hit worse for a while then stopped. Then my memory of things I said or where input stuff etc. conversation stuff like that appointments were bad I could write it in front of myself and tape it to my purse and would forget them . I started taking a low grade DHEA and it stopped it

@pdoubrava @suefish I understand all about dogs and losing them. It sucks. I’m so fed up with people near me still doubt the long Covid and assume that I’m nuts. Very aggravating. I live in St. Pete, FL and I’m desperate to find someone who believes me and. An help. Good luck to you AND me. 🙏🏻🤞🏻

Unfortunately I have had to diagnose myself and keep repeating it to the Drs. I am currently dealing with an overactive immune response to inflammation. So from what I can find for indoor on Drs papers they write about PASC long Covid the body is trying to get locate what it knows is microscopic so to speak particles left of Covid19 and it keeps doing it over and over to the point it becomes overactive for some of us I have entire body inflammation right now I can't get any Dr in Maine to treat. They keep telling me it a my body gaining weight. Which I know the difference at 49yrs old between weight gain and inflammation especially since I spent 20 years in nursing .

@pdoubrava @suefish I will look into that immediately. I’m tired of getting told I have dementia or worse. Thanks so much!!

@bigj @suefish. My brain fog of 1.5 years is pretty bad. I get lots of prayers AND nasty looks — that are thinking what is “long covid?”. . .

@suefish and if they knew they might not believe it anyway.

@bgpage @suefish I do if a lot but what’s that DHEA? If I’m writing in the wrong place, please stop me.

@suefish my entire family on my mom's side has hit menopause by age 45yrs old. Myself I have been having Premenopausal symptoms since I was 29 yrs old DHEA is Testosterone in an amount women lose as they start pre menopauseal symptoms over time. My experience is OBGYN Drs will not help with anything that is actually useful till way after menopause hits you . No matter our age even way after hitting menopause women in their 70s even will use it . Women before Menopause can use it . We can I myself feel that I would prefer a smaller amount that 25mg that being said in 2 weeks almost 3 weeks my brain started to become normal again I felt mentally human like myself.. The reality is Covid 19 and every single variant has depleted every bit of the mental and for many physical amino acids Vitamins Minerals and caused like myself overactive immune response because the virus left microscopic particles left inside the body and the immune system will keep trying to get rid of it . The only option now for people who ended up like myself physically is to have my immune system rest HBOT therapy is also very strongly known to help physical and mental. I went through By Winnona for DHEA. Myself.
