Lobectomy surgery preparation

I am scheduled for an upper lobe lobectomy on November 20th 2025. It is going to be the video assisted one. I am looking for information on how to find button down tops and any tips on what to take to the hospital to have during my stay there. Thank you.

@amalita, I had a video assisted lobectomy for my upper left lobe in 2020 and a wedge removed two years later on my right lower lobe. I brought very little with me because your stay in the hospital is only about three days and they send you home, whatever I took with me never got used and then I just stayed in the hospital gowns, it was comfortable for the time being. I hope your surgery goes well and a speedy recovery, best wishes.

hi @amalita - I haven't had that specific surgery, but for other ones I've used a zip up hoodie/sweatpants to arrive/leave in. I always like to have some lip balm and hand lotion in the hospital. I hope everything goes really well for you.
