Cataract surgery failure

Posted by hopless123 @hopless123, 3 days ago

I had cataract surgery 10012025. Upon post operative examination my surgeon stated that in 3-5 years I would be glad I had the surgery. He didn't explain. He just wanted to get away from me. My one question was answered with a confusing reply. I am blind in my right eye 20/2500. I need help!

I had the same problem and it turned out I had glaucoma and the pressure caused damage in my right eye plus I had a condition called pseudo exfoliation using drop to try to keep pressure down
I recommend getting a second opinion
Good luck

Cataract surgery is like an assembly line. In and out. You should have gotten a follow up appointment date when you are more likely to get questions answered. My Optometrist, always checks my cataract lenses. After five years I developed severe eye allergies and wound up damaging the pillow that the lens sits in. I'm scheduled to have a hole lased through it to solve the issue. Overall the cataract surgeries did help.

As a HIGH myope with macular puckers, I told surgeon I wanted lens that would allow me to thread a needle, but I can only see an arm's length away, can't thread a needle out there. I only had left eye done. I will wait now, since I can still see close with my right eye
