Recently diagnosed with pseodomas. Already have bronchiectasis and NTM MAI. This came out of nowhere. In
Good shape, doing everything right, boiling water etc...anyway, scared and sad. Just found out yesterday. Started Cipro 750 mg x2 a day for 2 was. Then another sputum. Need time to wrap my head around this, but
It's so disheartening when u r Dioulasso g everything right, and u still get the pseudo...sucks

@mp3542 Is there a possibility you could have a bacterial infection and a fungal infection and the doctors aren’t treating the fungal issue? Sorry to hear of your situation. Lots to deal with, with the BE too.

@jnmy possibly could have both, never checked.
Unless the drs. Did and didn’t tell me.
Either way nothing has worked.
I deal with this and trochanteric calcium growths which is a horrible pain to deal with. And a failed back fusion.
I’m batting a thousand. Buh!!

I have a sinus infection that I’ve had for over 45 years. Can’t get rid of it no matter what antibiotics they put me on.
I had tons of problems with my tonsils before I was 18. Finally had them out when was 21.
I’m 63 now.
They even put me on Cipro 750 2x a day for a month. It didn’t even touch it!
The only antibiotic that still works is doxycycline. I live in the central
Oregon high desert where the humidity is very low. I get flare ups when I go to
To the willamette valley (Portland or Salem) the humidity is very high there!
I can’t even stay 2 days there because the flare ups I feel will kill me within a week.
It gets into my lungs and the coughing is so distressing I pass out!
The doxycycline will knock it back down as long as I get back to the desert.
But it won’t get rid of it.
The drs. Are very sparingly giving me doxycycline because they feel if it starts to have no effect I’ll have nothing to use against other infections.
Anybody have any ideas?

Have you tried Gentamicin? I have chronic sinus infections which I believe are from having ABPA.

@susanrg20 no, they haven’t tried that. Usually If it’s a
Cillin or micin in the name it typically doesn’t work.
