@colleenyoung received a letter from Express Scripts advising that the request was denied. Strangely, it indicates that “Brand Myrbetriq “ will be approved before the generic Mirabegron. I feel that my PA should have known that.
I’m changing urologist to an MD, hopefully I will be able to get this medication if he believes it’s necessary.

@as737 Your Mayo PA should be working closely with one or more Mayo MD urologists. It should not be hard to see a Mayo MD urologist if you say you would like to do that.

@as737
I got my prescription for Myrbetriq yesterday I noticed that the retail price was a little over $1600. I know that my medical provider would get the cheaper generic if it was possible,

There seem to be some legal issues with the generic version.

The generic launches were "at risk" due to ongoing patent litigation from Astellas, the manufacturer of brand-name Myrbetriq. In April 2024, a temporary injunction was issued to halt the launch of Lupin and Zydus's generic versions. By May 2025, while the litigation was still ongoing, Lupin and Zydus were permitted to expand their patent defense arguments.
