Definitely see if you can get to a larger city neurologist and spine specialist. It seems you should have an updated EMG/nerve conduction study,
Small fiber neuropathy skin punch biopsy, plus MRIs of lumbar spine and hips/pelvis to narrow down source of symptoms.

What are the benefits of getting etiology for my peripheral neuropathy. At 81 years old surgery might not be a great option considering my good functioning.
