Prolia treatment for osteoporosis: What is your experience?

I fractured both femurs on Fosamex...I only have osteopenia but had taken Fosamax for sometime. I’m now looking at my alternatives between the injections.... like you I wish I could just throw caution to the wind, but I’m not sure that that’s the prudent thing to do. I visited my doctor yesterday and made an appointment for a month to discuss it again. I’ve been off Fosamax since November By order of my orthopedic doctor. He told me to find an endocrinologist which I’m trying to do.

I am sorry to read about your fractured femurs....wishing you a good recovery. Please let us know how long you were on Fosomax.

I'm so sorry to hear (both femurs!). Against my doctors advice, I chose not to do anything when I was diagnosed with osteopenia. In my mid 50's I was osteoporotic. At 63 I finally realized the time had arrived to deal with the the bone loss. I never had a fracture and have not had one yet. It is unfortunate that there are still not great pharmaceutical solutions to this problem. So many stories out there. Important that our voices be heard.
I hope you find a good endocrinologist soon.
