@maggieocary1 This is the dilemma. According to doctors, only 1 out of 10,000 have bad effects but I'm afraid to be that one! The endocrinologists I have seen and my PCP all say that what can happen without the drugs is worse than what can happen with them. I am putting off my decision until April, I have other things to attend to before that.

@contentandwell I put off taking meds (I am 65) until the rapid and ongoing loss of bone density changed the risk benefit ratio. Suddenly the constant possibility of a hip fracture began to worry me too much. So here I am 3 Prolia injections later, with very good results but not so great g.i. side effects and also this new kind of chest muscular pain. Not unbearable, but unpleasant.
