Immune Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP): What helps?
Has anyone been diagnosed with ITP? Does anyone take supplements for ITP? Food to eat to increase platelets?

My daughter was diagnosed with ITP after a year of frequent Strep infections, platelets down to 2000, all other labs normal. Steroids had no effect, IVIG with only temporary improvement. Eltrombopag is working well but she is experiencing a lot of nausea and fatigue. Does anyone have experience with Avatrombopag? No one will touch her tonsils, but we are wondering if they are continuing to stimulate her autoimmune antibodies, regardless of negative swabs.
@jimmyb63
A negative bone marrow test for immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is expected, as the purpose of the test is to rule out other conditions like leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome, not to diagnose ITP itself.

@holly5, I believe other members like @agfromtheuk @johnbowrey @et09 @lfn2124 have experience with avatrombopag (brand name Doptelet)that they may be able to share.
Holly, has your daughter changed medications?
