Sorry, I didn't mean to say hospital. I spent a week doing daily sessions. Autocorrect is a nuisance.

@carolynhughes75 My situation was similar to yours. I went from
Delaware yo New Jersey. Did four sessions with no results. I’m beginning to wonder if anyone really gets relief from this therapy. Travel, hotel, food, cost of therapy…for about ninety minutes sitting with some electrodes stuck on my skin. Well, I’m currently on a pain pump. Still having it adjusted. No relief yet. Twenty four years is a long time to be saddled with this kind of pain. Don’t stop looking for help and answers. Something has to be out there, or will eventually come along. I wish you well.

I tried Scrambler therapy earlier this year in New Jersey. Dr. Cooney was very professional, but the therapy did not help me at all. I'm not saying that it won't help others. It's just a shame that so many of us have to put out the money just to find out whether it works of not. That includes the cost of the therapy, travel expenses, lodging, and food. For me it was over $2000. I realize that it's not possible for many to absorb that kind of expense. Perhaps insurance will approve this before too long.

@heisenberg34 - I'm sorry to read the therapy didn't help....I live in NYC so my cost was the price of a two way car service in addition to the price of the therapy. So far the therapy has helped but we will see over the long term. I also suffer from a rare headache called Hypnic Headaches....and for that problem my Neurologist has started me on the program of 31 Botox injections into my forehead, scalp and neck....!!! I have to do this every 3 months...The first round has been hit or miss....I'm hoping for improvement over time...

@duchess926 Good to hear from you. When you say that the therapy is working, what exactly do you mean? Can you compare your pain level(1-10) before and after?
Man, that’s a lot of Botox. I hope insurance is covering it. May the Lord continue to allow more and better relief.

@heisenberg34 - Generally my trigeminal pain levels go way up.....but now my goal is to not have any pain at all and not have to rely on my steroids. I just returned for a series of 3 boosters and hoping to be able to go for a few months without any pain. Additionally, I bought a TENS unit for emergencies, also started using a device called THE VIBE by Resona (a PEMF device) and found an interesting nerve cream that actually works on my headaches. It's called MamaBear!!! As soon as i feel pain coming on, I slather it on my head and it actually works!! I'm trying it all. Did not realize there was a huge community of people in pain!

Thank you for your kind words. I hope your pain pump relieves your pain. I kind of wonder if Scrambler therapy is a glorified scam. Unfortunately when you are in severe pain, you grab at anything that might help. I wish you well.

@carolynhughes75 You hit the nail on the proverbial head. Pain can make us try just about anything. I don't know if Scrambler is a scam or not. My online searches reveal that it was developed by a Dr. Miller at Johns-Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore. That's why it seemed to be credible. It supposedly has a success rate of 70-80%. Seems like every therapy I try that has a high success rate has left me out in the cold. Well, I hope you find some measure of help. And it seems that doctors don't seem to give a hoot.

Thanks for asking Rachel , normally it is a 10 day program but they are allowing me just 4 days to see if we get any results, helps save a lot of money doing it that way. Tomorrow will be my 4th day so 🙏. I will let you know

I have CRPS and I finally found a place that’s 2hrs away in Chicago that offers the scrambler/calamare therapy. Do you have to go in every day to get this done for the 4-10 day duration? How long does it take per session? While they are doing it does it hurt(like feeling hot or any sensations)? Praying it helps your pain🙏

@daxel79 I am very sorry to say Calamare did absolutely nothing and the more I researched it and spoke with other medical professionals I have come to the conclusion that it’s nonsense.

I am still trying to just mentally deal with CRPS, after 7 yrs and no one can truly say that this or that will stop it. I think we have to find our own way with living with it
