Neuropathy in feet

Posted by jamie19901 @jamie19901, Oct 20 5:59am

Starts as a dull, bruised ache in the soles when standing. Ache builds into tingling, then warmth, and then burning sensation if I keep standing. Pain and redness fade rapidly (within minutes) after sitting or taking shoes off. Sometimes under aircon my feet will start a burning sensation. Tighter the shoes the faster the symptoms start. 6 years of IBS prior to this onset of symptoms . Otherwise fit 20year old.

EMG, blood work, MRI, XRAY, Ultrasound and countless medications. All clear, no results. Skin biopsy booked.

Hoping you get some answers soon. How soon is your skin punch biopsy?

They don’t think it’s EM due to it only happening when load is applied. No issues with heat when sitting or lying down. Can go to Australian beach on a hot day without issues.

Jamie, I looked up DEMYELINATION of feet nerves. Most diabetics get it. They are longest nerves. Look it up. Good luck.

My pereipheral Neuropathy began about 4 years ago when I stood up to walk 1 hr. 45" after the second Covid vaccine and could barely shuffle. It took months to be able to walk somewhat normally.
I still have problems walking the way the therapist tries to train me to walk to avoid a limp.
The past 10 days the pain going down the left leg and the pain in both hips remind me I have more going on
than just the PN. I have arthritis and osteoarthritis which flares up, comes and goes.
I have MET (essential tremor). I have LBBB and R -ABlock Hypertension and Scoliosis Lower back disc
deterioration with possible nerve involvement being pinched in L4 & L5. It gets complicated.
I do not take drugs, rather continue to do exercises given by my therapist 2 times daily.
It is frightening when I feel the PN starting to go up both legs beyond shins with tingling and burning, also
it is happening in Right arm and R hand. I fell last Feb 2024 and tore R ERotator Cuff, too many things
are happening all coming together to make pain happening in the body somewhere every day.
Does anyone have success taking Vit b 12? If so, how much? Thank you for any helpful information you may have. Doctors just shake their heads and suggest going to every specialist at NYU. Nobody can answer.

High protein in CSF from Lumbar puncture is indicative of CIDP.. However as it is a more invasive procedure its usually ordered after EMG/NCF.
