Breathing in only nebulizer
I thought I read a comment that a patient is using a nebulizer cup or attachment with a nebulizer compressor that only dispenses the 7% sodilum chloride while breathing in, saving medicine and time.
Anyone using this protocol? Do you need a special compressor and medicine cup? I would suspect the compressor would need a prescription, or not?
Any suggestions would help. Right now I am spending 20-25 minutes nebulizing the 7% solution, twice a day, sometimes 3. It certainly would help give me more of my life if I could cut the time down, and still receive the needed amount of solution for thinning the mucous.
Thanks!

Hi. I ordered a nebulizer machine on Amazon. They have lots to choose from. It comes with everything you need. The directions are easy and clear. You pour in your 7% saline in the nebulizer cup, plug it into the machine and plug the machine in the wall. Press the start button and off you go. When you’re done just unplug the machine and wash the nebulizer cup till next time. I even get the saline on Amazon. Hope this helps.

2 Reactions@deestrada I think what you might be referring to is the Aeroclipse XL nebulizer cups that have a breath actuated setting. Most nebulizers, when turned on start aerosolizing and in between breaths or while coughing all that saline (or medication) is just going into the air. With the breath actuated setting on, it will only dispense while taking a breath and this gets more saline (or medication) into your lungs. It does not save time but you receive more medication into your lungs rather than escaping into the air. You can use any compressor although some are more efficient than others. You do not need a prescription to purchase a compressor. I use the Ombra Compressor and the Aeroclipse XL cups set on breath actuated and it takes me about 20 minutes to nebulize 4ml of saline. The time savings can come from attaching the Aerobika to the Aeroclipse so that you are doing airway clearance and nebulizing saline at the same time. This does not work for everyone but I do find it effective for getting the mucus up and out.

7 ReactionsI agree that you are probably referring to Aeroeclipse breath actuated nebulizer/cup. I use it also, but use a Proneb Max compressor, which is much faster than my first
Some are using a Pari mesh nebulizer that is truly fast and quiet, but is very spendy. Here's one of the discussions about them.
