mabel343, the doctor honestly told me NOTHING. His nurse called after my scan and told me they want me to take Prolia and for me to start taking vitamin D and calcium. Not one more word! I am going to cancel my appointment. My total T- score was 2.5 (I think...I don't even know how to read this report). No fractures. I requested membership this morning to a couple of support groups. Waiting to hear back from them. Thank you for your input.

A T-score of -2.5 or lower qualifies as osteoporosis. A T-score of -1.0 to -2.5 signifies osteopenia, meaning below-normal bone density without full osteoporosis, so looks like you are right on the line. In addition to Calcium and D, I take Magnesium, Vitamin K2-4 and Boron. all important for calcium absorption. I couldn't find K2-4 on the shelf at the drugstore, but it was available on Amazon. Did you join "Osteoporosis: Myths & Facts" on Facebook? Just relax for now and absorb as much information as you can. It can be confusing, but in time you will be able to make some sense of it all.. There are also good sources of exercises for osteoporosis on YouTube, particularly a couple of physical therapists who not only know what they are doing, but they are also funny.

Please tell us how to find these support groups you are waiting to hear from. I also would definitely like to join. From Susan Vallejo

@cubbysgirl what support groups did you subscribe to? I’d like to do that. I went to a PT that specializes in osteoporosis. She has been a wealth of information!
