Unexplained weight gain

I’m so glad you brought this up. I’ve had hypothyroidism for years and years…. And Covid has messed me up. I’m gaining weight, my hair is falling out, face puffy— all my signs, yet the numbers aren’t showing it. I have been waiting for my moons to align with Jupiter so I can “ try again” with a blood test… WHEN I KNOW it’s off!!
I rarely test positive for anything— ever. My labs are always in normal range— but not normal for me. Thank you for the reminder: labs were created by man to fit hypothetical “normals”—-bodies are not built to lab specs! We each spring from our own unique…,Dealership… yikes! I got to get outta this analogy!!

Have gained 10 lbs in 4 months. Seems salt makes you retain water, and turns into belly fat. I feel the salt was helping. Now what?

I just came across your post - I know it’s been a few years. I had Covid, shingles and Covid again all within one year - and immediate started gaining weight. I’ve been healthy and strong my whole life with a healthy body fat %. After the infections, I started gaining 1-2 pounds a month.

I’ve been down a really long rabbit hole - ME/CFS, POTS, MCAS, Hashimoto’s. All are being treated. A pulmonologist just had me do a diaphragm strength test and I showed weak inhalation - possible from shingles. I’ve had pretty intense muscle pain and tightness in my left shoulder. I didn’t put the two together, but I think it’s related to the nerve affected by shingles (along my bra line and in my armpit).

I do know that the way you exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide can change your metabolism.

I’m wondering if you found a solution and if it lines up at all with what I’m going through?

@collinscsc Hashimotos has caused weight gain with me as well as Fibromyalgia/CFS.
