I took oral osteoporosis medication and had groin and leg pain, along with periodic stomach pain. When the bone pain/cramps became so severe it was waking me up nights, I stopped taking it. I started taking medication again a few years later at the urging of my doctor, but pain returned. I have now been off all osteoporosis drugs for a number of years. No bone pain and feel 100% better not taking anything! I have no intentions of taking prescription meds again until there is something that doesn't cause these side-effects and shows that it gives long-term benefits for osteoporosis.
