Please see some of my posts. @veriska can you help with that? It is my understanding that most posts I have read don't guarantee new bone growth. If it does, it is only while you are taking Prolia. BUT you cannot be on it long term. Then you have to switch to something like Boniva, etc. (which I cannot take because it makes my kidney disease worse. So in my estimation, Prolia only buys you some time. If you stop it, some people have noticed a rebound in the disease.

I have not been told that there is a time limit for being on Prolia. I think that you can be on it indefinitely. The only drug I have seen with a time limit is Fortea (2 years). There is continual research going on in this area, and there will probably be new drugs coming along.
