Has anyone tried acupuncture for neuropathy?
I was just wondering if anyone has tried acupuncture for neuropathy. The balls of my feet and toes on both feet are affected. It’s no longer covered on my insurance plan so I have to pay out of pocket for the treatments. I was told I would need about 9 or 10. It would cost me about $1000. I’d like to hear if anyone has had success with this type of treatment. Thanks, Nancy Banks.

I had acupuncture for the first time today and found it very relaxing.
I found acupuncture gave noticeable relief that lasted for about 3 days.
Thus is why it us recommended to go twice a week. I went once a week for a few weeks. I stopped because I couldn’t afford it.

1 ReactionIt took me only one to notice a little relief. I went 2x a week for 2 weeks then once a week for 2 weeks then went 2x a month and that worked great for me. Now I try to go 1-2 times a month, as acupuncture works for all around wellness
I have it in my feet and I’ve been told by a friend her mother found reflexology very helpful
I tried accupuncture a year after spinal fusion which resulted in neuropathy in feet . It unfortunately did not help after 7 sessions. But everyone is different and worth a try.
@margesil Ah, there's the rub. Something that seems to work but is too costly to continue. I am sorry that you are unable to continue.
@heisenberg34 , ironically with all the discussion, research in methods and medicinal remedies, some, like acupuncture , have survived, thrived, for thousands of years.
It’s only fairly recently that acupuncture practitioners can be found in hospitals. That’s a sign of legitimacy, yet insurance companies, for the most part have not caught up.
👍
@jc19 I agree it has great potential in many areas of wellness, proving itself over many hundreds of years. It’s way time it was treated seriously for its potential by scientists.
If it had that kind of data, insurance companies would enable it to be available to all,
@margesil I agree. And yet, chiropractic procedures for just about everything are approved without hesitation. Once I had a chiropractor shine some sort of low power laser on my forehead to address pain in my lower back. That's one of several reasons that I tend to shy away from chiropractors.
