@ctjoe7 it took a number of months and was gradual. Stopping all cholesterol lowering drugs and being patient have me back to normal. However, my numbers went up.

@ctjoe7 it's been quite a while now since that weaning. I don't think it even took three weeks because of my low dosage (5 mg). you wouldn't think that lower dosage could do as much as it did but I was off the statins for only three months. When I did my next blood work, my triglycerides skyrocketed. I immediately went back on the statins. Two months later, they were already under control again. I was really certain I was going to be able to go without them, especially since my diet is really healthy and my weight loss of 35 pounds took me down to 140. Neither of those things helped as much as I thought they would. Good luck with your journey!
