Thanks… I have been on Prolia 10 years and have been told I have to take a “vacation “ from it! I have never had a reaction from it and Reclast was a next possibility but have read a lot of comments about bad side effects. Getting an appointment to an endocrinologist takes months. All this is very frustrating and I know reading on-line stuff can be hard to balance with the actual side effects!!

@makko77 You cannot just take a drug holiday from Prolia like you can with a drug like Reclast or the other bisphosphonates, because of the rebound effect. The problem with Prolia is that once you stop taking it, the osteoclasts (the cells that breakdown bones which had been dormant) will now be super active and start breaking down bones at a higher rate, leading to fractures. I would take your doctor’s advice and go on ReClast to help with the rebound effect.
