17 year old daughter with endometrosis

Posted by amwein @amwein, Mar 4, 2017

Hello - I am new to this format/forum. My 17 year old daughter was diagnosed with endometrosis in April, '15 via surgery. She has been getting progressively worse and also has chronic pancreatitis which seems to flare up when she gets her period. We are heading to Rochester in hopes of meeting with someone there to help us as she is aging-out of the children's hosptial that has managed her care until now. She is on her 24th hospital stay since July '14 with the combo of these two chronic conditions. Pain level is severe, her GYN has provided little options for care. Her pelvic pain is so bad that she can hardly walk some days, going to school is a struggle and she is feeling very isolated and lonely. There are no support groups for her in town. Any direction, suggestions, help is much appreciated. Thank you!

Hello! I’m also going to Mayo Clinic soon for endometriosis, I’m 20! So if your daughter wants someone to talk to closer to her age about all this stuff, you can PM me. I’d be happy to talk to her☺️.

What kinds of symptoms have you been experiencing with your endometriosis, @kiannadee? Have you been having a lot of pain?

Hi, I am new here also, I am sorry to hear about what your 17 year old daughter is dealing with. I know what she is going through, I was the same age when I was diagnosed with endometrosis and was enemic as well. It was a very painful and difficult period in my life that lasted several years, they wanted to do a hysterectomy saying it could develop into cancer( but made it sound more like it would ) , but I refused! My biggest dream was to be a mother. Yes there can be a light at the end of the tunnel and now I am 59 today and am the mother of a 30 year old.

Hi everyone,

My name is Laura and I was dignosed with endometriosis, and getting an hysterectomy on Dec 26th 2017. I get a wierd sensation in my pelvic area, and I only get pain with sexual intercourse. Other then this I don't get pain, I only have one overy left and I search this and what I read doesn't make since. I am married and it's going on 14 years and I would live to have my husbands baby, he helped me raise my daughter (his step daughter) and because of this I can't. Has anyone had this and still carried a child? If so can you please contact me before I make a mistake and regreat this later. Thanks.

Hello Laura, I am not sure if you decided on the hysterectomy on Dec 26th 2017, I hope you did not. Yes I was very sick with daily pain , in very bad shape , but I got through it and did have a child, he is 30 years old today and I am 59.

Hi. I’m new here and, was also diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis. I was wondering if anyone knows if it could cause a miscarriage. I miscarried at 11 weeks 2 years ago, but my doctor told me endo does not cause miscarriage, that it only causes infertility. I’m still second guessing that for some reason. I had a lap surgery in November and , I am now doing the lupron injections until September. Please pray for me. Any info on this would be appreciated!

Some of you have talked about endometriosis you or a loved one was experiencing. I'd love to hear how you are doing, and I think others would also benefit from your experiences.

@roxy1992 - I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage two years ago. That is heartbreaking.

How are things going with the endometriosis and the lupron injections you were doing this summer?

@amwein - How are things going with your daughter's endometriosis? Did she go through the pain rehab program?

@david33 - wondering how your endometriosis is doing and the pain you were experiencing with intercourse? How did the hysterectomy go?
