@peterose - I believe you are talking about the fecal immunochemistry test (FIT)?
If so, @jbabble, I'd like to welcome you to Mayo Clinic Connect and also provide some information on on the FIT from Mayo Clinic. If you scroll down a bit to where this article describes pros and cons of different colon cancer screening tests, it describes the FIT:
- Colon cancer screening: Weighing the options https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/colon-cancer/in-depth/colon-cancer-screening/art-20046825
I personally had potential appendicitis that baffled my doctors when I was in 7th grade. I had nausea and vomiting and bad tummy pain. However, I was not doubled over in gut pain like most appendicitis patients, which was mystifying to the doctors. They did an internal physical exam and ultimately performed a barium enema on me to definitively determine if I had appendicitis. It turned out I did, so I had an appendectomy.
When will you be meeting with your doctor, jbabble? Did anything else happen with your symptoms over the weekend?
@vita831 - how are your symptoms? Are you still having pain?
@mimi86 - Did you get any answers?
