Can you take doses of prednisone and myfortic at the same time?
I was just put on myfortic today and have to take two pills a day.
I am also on prednisone, which I take in the morning.
Does anyone know if I can take my predisone dose and my myfortic pill at the same time?

@humbug Well, I took them at the same time for several years! And I’m still here. Okay joking aside. The pills are easy to swallow, you will find that it’s difficult to find a time in the evening to take the pills because all of the evening actives change times constantly. I started asking the hostess what time dinner would be so I could plan accordingly. Or, if we would be somewhere at pill-time, I made a mental note to take them as soon as I got home.
Just lots of juggling around. Pick times that would work for you and family.
Ask questions!! I may or may not have some answers.
@becsbuddy Glad you're still here! Happy to report I took my first Myfortic dose yesterday, and as far as I can tell, I'm still here as well :)!!
Good to know you did not have issues taking doses at the same time. Saves a call to the pharmacist.
I am curious to hear about any side effects you had with the Myfortic? They took me off AZA (this is for AIH) as my thiopurone metabolites test was abnormal indicating that I wasn't metabolizing AZA in an efficient way. I had been on AZA for about 8 months. Other than the first few days, I did not have any concerning side effects with AZA.
Hope the Myfortic works as it should. At my last blood test, my ALT was at 60, so edging closer to normal.
The question is: What does your prescribing physician say about taking both at the same time?
