Have you heard about molecular hydrogen water?
In 2024 my egfr was 35. In May it was 39. I’ve been all over the internet and recently read about molecular hydrogen water which is supposed to be good for kidney disease. What really got my attention are the claims that not only is it good for ckd but boosts your energy and cognitive functioning. I’m 79 and have eaten as much organic as I can find for over 10 years. The cause of my disease was a LOT of nsaids for chronic pain and migraines. Plus chronic constipation, taking cascara sagrada for about 2 years. I don’t drink regularly but used to have 1-2 glasses of wine with dinner. Plus I smoke 5-6 cigarettes a day (still). I very rarely have red meat ( not even once a month) and eat a lot of vegetables, chicken and fish. My challenge is hydration.
What I read said 15 oz of water and onemolecular hydrogen tablet twice a day. If you can believe the reviews, supposedly it makes a huge difference in your overall health, stamina and cognitive functioning.
I really look forward to comments and insights from this great group.
God bless you all.

I too am curious about this claim. My egfr is around 38. I'm soon to be 68 yrs. I suffered, still do somewhat, from migraines and tension headaches, but now avoid the Nsaids. I've changed my diet to assist my kidneys. Not a big alcohol user, once a month might have a beer????
Will be curious if this hydrogen water claim is on the up and up.
Each breath you take gives you hydrogen. It is the most abundant element -molecule on the planet.
The statement "Each breath you take gives you hydrogen" is largely inaccurate. While trace amounts of hydrogen can be present in the breath, this is not a primary process of breathing itself. The hydrogen in your body comes mainly from water (\(H_{2}O\)) and other organic compounds in your food, while the hydrogen in your breath is produced by gut bacteria.
If you only breathed oxygen you would be living in a specialized chamber. O2 is highly flammable. You also breathe nitrogen which does dilute the o2. It would be difficult though to not breathe hydrogen which is the most abundant element on the planet.
