I have diarrhea after colonoscopy im afraid
@houdaadnane
I would think as long as there is no blood in it you will be ok
Post colonoscopy diarrhoea will stop once you start taking normal diet.Initially have low fibre vegetarian ,carbohydrate food which is easily digestible.Poor gut has suffered with the colon preparation.It will get better fast,don’t worry
I had a colonoscopy on April 17th 2025 and have had the diarrhea since. I have only every gone 1 time in the morning for my entire life (63 yrs). I have tried ginger w/ lemon. I have never had any issues, polyps or anything things else wrong. Please advise. Never no fever, just very minor discomfort from time to time. But I am afraid to go out or eat out because of running to the bathroom. Please advise.

My digestive system has evolved since 1999 when I underwent a colectomy and have a colostomy. My normal elimination process has functioned flawlessly since that date. I also have experienced about 12 colonoscopies over the period of those years. Life is what we make it. My wife is an excellent cook and we have learned together that a good soup or stew once a day keeps thing flowing smoothly and if one dose not boil the nutrients out of their soup or stews, your digestive system will calm down. Be happy, less stress and keep moving. Joseph

Have you tried no fibre diet on the day before going out and on the day of going out plus a loperamide.
No fibre is supposed to be bowel binding
In postop patients who have undergone recto vaginal fistula repair it has helped
As I suffer from fragmentation ,frequency and incontinence following a descending colon J pouch,I prepare my bowel like that to get at least 6 hours respite
You are some one normal and I feel it may help you better than me and I really hope so.
@premi I had right hemi-colectomy last year and have a colonoscopy soon…my doc advised a soft, low-fiber diet 3 days before the c’scope (and hydrate)—a clear liquid diet 1 day before…and then the ritual of laxative, then MiraLax with a gallon of Gatorade ! the night before…then just enough water the morning of to take necessary approved meds 4 hours before c’scope… it might help. (Did it before, worked well, with the addition of 1 Zofran an hour before the MiraLax ordeal, so i wouldn’t barf in the middle of all that ). Hope this helps someone….
