I’m so sorry you are dealing with this. The Vanco may destroy your microbiome. The combination of C Diff toxins, plus Vanco may cause temporary post infectious IBS due to damage to the lining of your gut, which makes it very difficult to eat/digest. That is what happened to me and as a consequence I lost almost 40 lbs and became malnourished. I was told to eat fermented foods but early on I could not tolerate them, or much of anything else. I would suggest that you search LOW FODMAP DIET to start with foods that will not cause temporary IBS symptoms to complicate your situation. One doctor recommended ProBioMed 250 (probiotic) and that made a big difference in digestion for me. Eventually I was able to see a gastro doc and he recommended Florastor and Visbiome (112.5 million) which has been great. Eventually you’ll be able to slowly reintroduce foods back into your diet. If you do take probiotics with an antibiotic I think you need to be careful of the timing because the antibiotic will kill the probiotic. Hopefully you can look back into this platform’s archives on this subject because there is a lot of good information out there. Check out CDiff.org - it’s a great resource.

@cas924 thank you so much for I love getting additional information to try to get rid of this. The doctor now has me in my 2nd dose of fidaxomid. I sure hope this helps. I am not sure now if my guy is still bad from the cdiff or all the antibiotics I have taken. I will check out CDiff.org. Thank you!!!!!
