Severe skin reactions after mRNA covid vaccine

Posted by eva1961 @eva1961, Sep 29, 2022

I considered myself a healthy person until I developed severe skin reactions after the first of four mRNA-COVID vaccines. I also developed antibodies for thyroid disease and lupus.
I have seen a dermatologist because of the skin reaction on my neck, had a biopsy which shows an increased dermal mucin. I also have seen a rheumatologist who recomends me to take plaquenil. I think doctors are not well informed, I honestly have fear of gettting any more boosters or any other vaccines. Please, please let me know if anyone is taking any medications after being diagnosed with lupus.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and have received all Moderna boosters. After my second booster, I noticed profound bruising and bleeding on the front of my legs and front of my arms. The skin has looked abnormal since the first of August. Has anyone experienced any skin disorder after receiving the Covid booster?

Yes, I have developed Grover's disease from head to toe and now bruise if you even look at me. I had a total of 3 Moderna vaccine shots. I was so extremely sick after shot 3 which was the 1st booster that I decided no more shots, at least for a while. Then, not long after, I developed Grover's so severely that I knew "no more Covid vaccine".

sophiep- I am certain vaccines can trigger auto-immune diseases based upon my reaction to a Shingrex Vaccine. I had the Pfizer vaccines and boosters for covid without a reaction. I appreciate your info about the association of GD with the Moderna vaccine. For years I had a classic GD case- wrap around front and back torso rash, painful and itchy, the inital outbreak lasted a full year and then for years I would have 6 months of activity and 6 months of dormancy. I hope you have heard about using cilantro as a heavy metal detox to control or rid yourself of GD. Since I did this in spring of 2019 I no longer have ourbreaks, although I did get what I initially thought was a GD recurrance the end of 2019 within 3 day after getting the Singrix Vaccine for shingles. Yet rash on my front torso looked more like shingles as it was plaque like, whereas my GD was thousands of tiny individual papuales. I only lasted about 2-3 months The GD was dramatically more itchy and painful. I've never had that plaque like rash since. My derm then told me he was sorry I didn't check with him before I got this Shingles vaccine as he has read about and seen this vaccine give others this reaction.
Have you followed any GD blogs on the Mayo? I don't keep up with them anymore. This is where I learned about the association of GD with heavy metals and this metals detox works for a little less than 50% of of us that used ourselves as guinea pigs.
Kimass1 in Feb of 2019 learned about it and shared this info, but there are a couple Mayo GD blogs running at this time so try to find this one and follow the progress of those of us that tried it
I began it at the time I was about a month in to a new recurrance. It took me a few months to be positive it was working and it took about 2 years free of GD rash outbreaks to have my skin feel normal, like it did pre-GD, as it was still sensitive for a few years.
Google Heavy Metals tied to Dementia, Parkinson's and Grover's Disease. My brother has Parkinson's and my sister has GD. Her case is chronic but limited to only under her breasts, itching is very mild and she can't be bothered with the cilantro detox. I was desperate. Your case is so very severe it would be worth trying. Blood can be chelated, meaning the heavy metals can be filtered out, but doing this naturally at home was easy enough for me.

Yes, I have been following the Cilantro link and having a smoothie every day for months using half a bunch each time. Unfortunately I don’t seem to be helped at all with it, but I continue anyway. Thank you so much for your response. I continue to read all the posts on Mayo Connect and anything else I find.

Good morning after my second pfizer booster I woke up with a bloody eye it was actually dripping all over my pillow. Doctor said it was broken blood vessels but didn't know enough to relate it to the booster. Since I've been getting the vaccines for covid I've developed nodules in my thyroid one on my spleen and one in my lung. After a year and a half of u/s of thyroid they have not grown u/s of spleen shows benign. Lung nodule is micro and stable. All can be documented to be normal with previous testing before vaccines. Crazy.

I dunno if my recent July Dx of HSD or POTS is related to the vaccine or the infection because I don’t even know if I was ever infected since I got so sick October 2021 and all nasal swab was negative. I’m constantly with high D dimer they advised to stop the 3 booster until they figure it out. I got tired on August 2022 and did the blood test and it was high. So no doctor is actually explaining me anything even if I bring this to the GIM, specialists, PCP etc. I’m having Cardiolipin (clotting related test) almost strong positive (mine is weak increasingly positive). I’m still under personal investigation of the etiology of my current health situation that I’m basically unable to walk or function properly. Regardless, I’m still hopeful, grateful and I’ll take one step at a time.

Blessings and lots of healing for all ❤️‍🩹

A day or two after receiving - together - my annual Flu Shot and Pfizer Covid booster vaccinations, I developed itching in my forearms. After 10 days, it has become much more intense and is at greater severity late afternoon/evenings, sometimes up the entire arm. I also have some lesser itching on my thighs, legs and neck. I did not have any noticeable reactions to either vac in the past. Nothing has changed in my Rx or supplement routines - Eliquis, Vit. D3, Multi Vitamin and D-Mannose/w Cranberry. (I will state that I had a similar reaction to Ciprofloxacin 9 years ago with itching in my hand and forearm with other side-effects that did go away in a week or so.) I have tried lidocaine and cold compresses that help a little bit. Any recommendations? Will this eventually subside? What professionals should I see - dermatologist, neurologist or who?

Following SARS-CoV-2 infection, I developed petechiae, suggesting possible vascular or hematologic involvement.

Subsequent administration of the BioNTech mRNA vaccine was associated with the onset of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS).
Pre-vaccination ELISA serology supports the presence of relevant biomarkers prior to mRNA exposure.

Sorry, my pictures about petechiae and SJS could not be implemented here. I don't know how.

I have had long covid/vax injury since the last mRNA Moderna booster in Oct of 2022.
Itching, rashes and hives have been an intermittent but consistent symptom ever since that booster. Sometimes there is no obvious explanation. I have had several strong itching, swelling, rashes from several specific meds or OTC supplements - vitamin B3, some gummies that are intended to improve vision, a prolonged series of sores around my chin and mouth from Fluorourcil that have been on my face for about a year. They just won’t heal no matter what treatment I try. I will see my doctor on Friday about this.
I had a strange and scarey reaction to Clindamycin which my dentist gave me. My lips and the entire inside of my mouth and tongue became sore, numb, dry and swollen. This took about two weeks to gradually subside. I have also had itching on my ankles and knees after knelling on a cheap synthetic carpet from China. I also have intermittent bouts of itching from no apparent stimulus, mostly on my arms and thighs but it can be just a small area or quite large. I developed an allergy to elastic and had to buy new underwear with covered elastic. They still cause some mild itching around my waist.
Well, there may be other specific events but that is all I can think of at the moment.
I wish you healing and a sense of well being in spite of this terrible affliction. Fatigue is one of the worst and is almost constant unless I take some Adderall which has its own story.
Good luck Dog Mama and I hope this helps.

Shouldn’t we be entitled to or eligible for some financial compensation from the pharmaceutical companies responsible for long COVID/vax injury?
It has had severe consequences for those who have it. My doctor told me that I may have this for life.
Does anyone know how to pursue this?
Thanks. Emily
