Anyone else think a statin drug triggered your PMR?

Yes, most definitely. Back in the fall of 2022 I was given a statin drug. Within months I had terrible pain in both my legs. The pain never stopped even after I threw the statin drug away. It took 3 months to be diagnosed with PMR. I have worked my way down from 15mg to 1 or 2 with two relapses. My doctor said I no longer have PMR but have Prednisone Withdrawal Symptoms. Needless to say, I still hurt and have fatigue. I am so over this and want it to go away. I wish you the best.

I am sorry you have been going through all of that. Why were you on prednisone and what type of statin were you on? I hope you have a good outcome, recovering to 100%I am pretty sure after everything I read I will not go on the statin. Maybe the better choice is cholestOFF, the pharmacist at Costco thought it would be better one for me to try and told me to avoid red yeast rice while I am on Bimzelix injections for AS and psoriatic arthritis.
Have you heard about Ezetimibe as an alternative to a statin? I might talk to my doctor about that if my cholesterol is still to high next year. In the mean time I will think I try CholestOFF..

My total cholesterol was at 212 when I was given Pravastatin 10 MG. It did drop my numbers to 183. I should have tried the natural way first. It seemed everyone I knew was on the statin with no problems. Today I am taking CholestOff, Citrus Bergamont, 1200MG Fish Oil, and CoQ10 and doing well. Also watch your sugar intake, saturated fat and stay off the processed food. Exercise helps too.
The last few days I have been doing great. The PMR is in remission and I am down to 1MG on the prednisone. My symptoms have improved so much that I am getting up and down from a chair without pain and stiffness.
Happy to hear you are trying the natural way to control the cholesterol. Take care of yourself. Hope the PMR goes into remission for you too. Be patient.
