This is great, @lindabees. Thank you so much for sharing your story and for helping others on Mayo Clinic Connect.

My father-in-law had PNETs. He did, sadly, pass away this June from metastases subsuming his liver after basically all his significant treatment options ran out. But due to some amazing treatments over the years, his life was extended many-fold, and we were so grateful.

Anything you can do to encourage others with this disease with which many people are not familiar yet is just fabulous.

@lisalucier I'm so sorry for your loss. But you're right. The advancements have truly been life changing.

@lisalucier we are so short on support groups in England and as for mentors they are unheard of.. My husband died of cancer within 10days of finding out. Up until then he had never had so much as a cold. He was extremely healthy and not even 50. The only person we saw was a McMillian nurse and she could, nt stop weeping. The nice thing she did tho was put us in the a truly beautiful hospice and l will always
remember my husband saying " if l,m going to die l,m certainly going 5 Star .Picking up after he had gone has and still is extremely difficult.l wish l had had someone to talk so it,s nice to know people are so organized with kindness and info these days. All the very best Lori Clements .
