Hello @davidmc1954
This is certainly an interesting change in diagnosis for you, and I can understand that you are seeking information. I found a study on the NIH website that you might find interesting. Here is a link to that article: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4874026/
After reading the article, I see that this disorder does not respond favorably to the standard medical treatment with levodopa. Has this been your experience as well?
The article also mentions Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). Has this treatment been considered?
I look forward to hearing from you again. Will you continue to post updates as you and your medical team consider the available treatment options?
@davidmc1954 - wow. I think I'd find it jarring if my diagnosis of 5 years was suddenly changed.
I wanted to let you know I moved your post here to where others were already discussing Parkinson's versus Parkinsonism so you could chat with members such as @mondo3019 @hopeful33250 @wolfplanetzero @tsch and others about what this change will mean for you.
What are your feelings about this change, @davidmc1954, and about the fact the diagnosis was changed?
